TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions apply to bookings you make with us over the phone, via email, in-person or online. We will rely on the authority of the person making the booking to act on behalf of any other traveller on the booking and that person will bind all such travellers to these terms and conditions.
All rates are quoted in AUD and are inclusive of GST (Goods & Services Tax). Our ABN number is 68 565 784 439. All prices are subject to availability.
Book with confidence
Given the exceptional circumstances we currently face, we are offering extra flexibility and support for all new bookings made directly through mitchellgrassretreat.com.au, email, or by phoning our booking office direct. This includes:
- Free change of date up to 48 hours prior to arrival for stays up to 31 October 2020.
- A full credit of deposits paid will be applied and no change of booking fees charged, however date changes will be subject to availability.
If you have booked through a third party, travel agent or tour operator please contact them directly.
Your credit card details will be required to confirm your booking. Please note that your credit card details are taken as a guarantee of your booking. Full balance will be charged on the morning of your arrival. Most major credit cards accepted.
Notice of cancellations or amendments must be provided in writing. Cancellation charges are as follows:
- Bookings cancelled more than 48 hours prior to arrival – no penalty
- 24 – 48 hours prior to arrival – penalty equivalent to 1 night’s accommodation
- No Shows and cancellations on day of arrival – penalty equivalent to 100% of booking
No refunds for non-refundable bookings/packages. We will do our best to secure another booking to reduce or avoid the need for cancellation charges. Rescheduling will be subject to the standard cancellation policy. Gift vouchers are non-refundable.
Terms & Conditions below are for bookings made directly via the Mitchell Grass Retreat website. These terms and conditions may be updated from time to time and are subject to change at our complete discretion without further notice to you.
Late checkouts are available upon request. Please contact Reception to check availability. Additional fees may be applied. A late check-out fee may apply if the accommodation is not vacated prior to the set check-out time of the property.
A valid Credit Card is required at time of booking and a valid Credit Card must be presented at time of check in.
No Party Policy
For the benefit of all guests, Mitchell Grass Retreat has a strict no party policy. In the event that any tent/guest is identified as having a party, the property reserves the right to immediately request all occupants of the tent to vacate the premises. In addition the registered guests will be required to settle the account prior to departure for any expense resulting from additional cleaning of the tent, replacement of any furniture/fixture/fitting breakage, as well as for any required repairs.
Upon arrival Guests must provide valid photographic identification for security purposes. The booking must be under the name of the person checking in. In addition, the Guest must also provide a credit card in the name of the photographic ID.
Up to two children aged 3-14 years may be accommodated in our oversized Mulga Tents with two adults. Bedding for children will be in our Deluxe Outback Swags for an additional fee of $30 per swag per night. Infants 0-2 years are accommodated free of charge using existing bedding.
Under 18’s Policy
All guests under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/responsible adult over the age of 18 years. The property has the right to refuse any booking when the legal guardian over 18 years cannot provide current photo ID if requested on check-in.
We will make all attempts to satisfy special requests, however cannot guarantee.
Mitchell Grass Retreat offers free access to Wi-Fi internet in tents and common areas. Mitchell Grass Retreat cannot be held responsible for non-availability of the Internet network, inability of accessing the Website, external intrusion, computer viruses, or non-authorised online transactions using our Wi-Fi access.
No-Shows / Failure to Cancel
Each booking at Mitchell Grass Retreat is subject to a Cancellation Policy. Failure to check in on the reserved arrival date will incur a 100% penalty charge. If guests choose to shorten their stay or check out early a penalty charge will apply, as detailed in the Cancellation Policy associated with the rate booked.
Limitation of Liability
Notwithstanding anything contained in these Terms and Conditions to the contrary, Mitchell Grass Retreat both for itself and on behalf of their employees or agents, do not accept any responsibility for any act, omission, default or neglect of themselves, their employees or agents for injury, damage, or loss to persons or goods whatsoever. They shall not be held responsible for indirect damage, damage arising from consequential damage or special circumstances, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of profit, loss of use, loss of opportunity, arisen out of the performance or non performance of obligations under this Terms and Conditions.
Mitchell Grass Retreat strongly recommends you purchase Comprehensive Travel Insurance. We suggest that the policy include, but not limited to, the following coverage – loss of payment through cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage, loss of money and medical expenses.

You must ensure that you are aware of any health requirements and recommended precautions relevant to your travel.
All tents are non-smoking.
Accommodation is self-contained and does not include daily service.
Service animals are welcome. Other ‘fur babies’ on request.
